ABOUT
Known for her Still Life, Floral, Landscapes, Seascapes, Pet Portraits, "MED-Art," and Artistic Furniture Refinishing, Michelle sees art, in today's incredibly technological world, as points of light and color infused by science and nature. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor in Science and Nursing from Seattle Pacific University in 1988. She also studied under Art Professors Michael Calder and Timothy Malm at Seattle Pacific University, working hard to fit as many art classes as possible into the busy Nursing Curriculum.
She has avidly studied the Impressionists and their beautiful works in reflection of light, including a trip to Paris and the Louvre. Monet, Manet, and Mary Cassatt have been her primary influences. She is also influenced by Primitive Australian Aboriginal works of art for their spirituality, shapes and symbolism. Michelle continues to study with local artists, takes art classes, creates pieces in acrylic, pastel, mixed media, watercolor, and furniture finishing mediums.
